This has always happened to me and I get the impression it will continue to happen throughout my entire school career. I find that, at school, there is always a group of people in a class who are considered the rebels. These people are admired by everyone except an even smaller group called the geeks. I class myself as one of the geeks and I am proud of that. The entire purpose of a rebel is to ensure that everyone in the class gets a grade just as bad as theirs even though they deserve much more. This eventuality is made possible by the fact that the rebels sit at the back making as much noise as possible, drawing the teacher away from everyone else and also, more importantly, away from whatever they are teaching. The poor teacher (yes rebels, teachers do have feelings you heartless idiots) ends up getting very annoyed, delighting the rebels even more and I am normally one of the few who actually seems to care about my education and doesn't laugh along with all their crap. At the end of the day, I am worried that I will get a s**t grade in some subjects because of these people and the worst thing is that they wouldn't care at all.

Agreed.
I wouldn't fully class myself as a geek but I would say I'm in that criteria of people, as I hate the so called rebels. Your right, with them taking up so much time, learning becomes incredibly more difficult. What the school needs to do is seperate those that want to learn and those that want to make learning difficult, so the failures fail and the winners win.
The rebels deserve much more? HA! don't make me laugh. They don't deserve a grade at all.

Totally agree. My teachers spend all of their time shouting at these rebels (just what they want) and therefore the people who want to work and learn get very little attention. That's why I like having streamed classes, because those who do not work will get dumped in the lowest set, while the awesome nerds can all congregate and discuss Twilight in the top set.

I would love to discuss Twilight, but: Girly Book + All-Boys School = NO! Also, before this post there was 69 posts in this board. Is it bad that I lol'd?

We don't have cookies, but we're all raging homosexuals anyway! Woops! School injoke, oh dear! Ah well, school can be quite awesome, as long as you avoid the idiots.

I am tired of these fucking comments. Just because I like things that other people consider nerdy doesn't mean I should be subjected to all this bullshit that I have to put up with. I try my best to make it seem as if I don't care, but the truth is that I fucking do care. Every time someone makes one of these shitty comments, it hurts me. Truth is, I am a nerd, but that isn't a reason to make me feel like an inadequate twat all the time. To everyone else, I am sorry for my foul-mouthed tirade there, but I needed to get that off my chest.

You know what I hate, is when you get a good grade and these rebels make you feel as if you wish you hadn't got it.

i think your types of people is seriously shitty and misguided, its more like:
geeks - the people that are total geeks in almost everyway and are immensly clever
people who are thought to be geeks: they are pretty clever but hang around with the geeks so get called a geek
norms - just your everyday kinda people, clever but not very clever and dont get into loads of trouble, but have the odd telling off
gays and whatnots - these are the people that are just considered gay, you dont have to be actualy gay.. but if you hang around with atleast 3 or 4, you are part of the "gay crowd"
hard kids - the hard kids reli =/, the ones you call rebels... they are the ones that dick about abit, but not as much as the group beneath
kids that think they are hard - these are the worst as they think its big to bully people and shit and think they they r well ard, when they actualy arent
and then we come to...
loners and rejects - these are the people that have no real friends and are just rejected from general socialism (these are lower down the geeks, they are the lowest of low)
well, thats how i see it... im sure people will be telling me where i am rong and being harsh on people and discriminating or wot eva... but the truth is.... its how i see it

You're mostly right, but then you'd be perfecting the stereotype of the a school, which is not correct.
There are some that slip through the cracks and others that belong to two groups. For example some of the smartest in my year, are the most popular.
In my school there's really no such thing as geeks, we've matured past that. In my school, this is what my sister came up, in a number system.
1 - The leaders, only like 2 people in the year, maybe a couple more that are like, at the top. (1% - 2& of the year).
2 - Still in the popular group but not at the very top. (20% of the year.)
3 - The ones that are kinda in in the popular group but not, basically the wannabes, this is where the hard kids, the ones that think they're hard and just generally the wannabes belong. (30% of the year).
4 - The normal people, they can be very smart, or they cannot, normal in personality. Includes geeks, people who are thought of as geeks, gays and what nots, and just normal people. (40% of the year).
5 - The loners as rejects, the same as above. ^_^ (10% of the year.)
Btw, crazer, are you at an all boys school?

DC, although your post was right, it descended into text speak a few times. am i meant to care about that? Yes you are. In my opinion, use of text speak greatly decreases the value of your point. It makes people take it less seriously. That is a real shame because the stuff you were saying in that post was very true.

I presume they are points allocated to you for doing "masculine things". Or, in the language of the sensible people, points allocated for being a total bastard.

I'm not sure. I think that I would be considered as one of the 'rebels' who basically screws around, gets on report, throws stuff around the classroom and talks back to the teachers. My grades are still some of the best in the class and I don't seem to stop anyone from learning. I mostly mess around in lessons when we have stupid teachers (french) or supply teachers and most of the time the most disruption I cause is throwing something at a teacher which doesn't exactly ruin the class....
And when other people mess around I jsut find ti funny. it's only annoying if it's someone stupid who thinks they're funny and hard and is really an attention seeker (ahem Troy). Troy's a bit of an idiot but he does produce a lot of laughs ("I will shank you all including you blondie" aimed at the teacher). I think that he's more the kind of rebel that could disrupt someone's learning but I'm not sure.

lol yeah I don't like it when people do it to look cool or get attention. I jsut do it because it makes the lesson a bit more fun if it's boring..
