It isn't /too/bad, but my experiences of it aren't happy.
First time I went (many years ago), I ate a dodgy hot dog and threw up all over my sleeping bag.
Second time I went (last year), the weather was awful and the wind was close to blowing the tent over.

Those experiences sound terrible!
I tend to hate it because it's usually way too hot and full of bugs. D=
I went camping one time and wore a short skirt and my legs were covered in mosquito bites afterwards. It was awful.
