This is the big debate. Does God exist? I classify myself as an agnostic. That means that I do not really believe either way and believe that, in the present climate, we have no way of being able to conclusively prove for or against the existence of a divine being. My views were exclusively against until very recently, when I found this article that provides a fairly convincing argument saying that God does exist. I still don't believe in it though, so chose no as my answer in the poll.

Lmao, sorry couldn't help it. Anyway, that article was pretty convincing. Unfortunately, to fuel a decent debate we need two sides, I however am on your side Tom. God does not exist.
I will just use a basic arguement against God to begin a debate, so here we go.
First off, if this almighty God does actually exist, why does disease spread across the land? Is it perhaps mankinds own doing? Is it perhaps God was trying to get rid of some humans and some innocent people were taken in the process? Could it be that maybe there was a 'glitch' of some sort involved, just like a computer can catch a virus.
Now think about it, if God was the creater of large and powerful mountains, and was the creator of vast seas and oceans, what kind of off day was he having when he made you? By you, I mean yourself. Not any body inparticular. I mean just wake up in the morning, have a shower, and look in a mirror and think "that great creater, that created the earth and the universe, has created me". I mean what happened there?
Second arguement, rather stupid but still effective. If God truely exists, why do we bite the inside of our own mouths? Surely, if this great being existed, he would have made the simplest tick in our brain, to actually know where the food was, rather then biting our tongues or even our mouths.
Third arguement. The appendix. SURELY, if God is what people think he is, then why in the name of anything but God, did he put inside every human being, an organ that does NOTHING except randomly kill you? It's in there for ages doing nothing and then all of a sudden it decides to burst, I don't get it.
Now I understand that maybe the appendix served a purpose a few hundred thousand years ago when cavemen were eating grass for a living, but why, in all heavens why, if creatures could have evolved and adapted over the few hundred thousand years, why didn't we? Why didn't we lose the appendix a few hundred thousand years ago?
That will be the base of my arguement for now as I have coursework to do =]

Meh. Coursework sucks.
I will argue against those points for the sake of debate.
All of those points would become invalid if I was to say that all God did was cause The Big Bang to happen. God made these atoms explode but, after that, had no influence whatsoever on anything that happened.

Yeah but your point would become invalid if I was to say that The Big Bang was a mere matter of accidental collision rather then someone forcing it to happen.

Yeah but your point would become invalid if I was to say that The Big Bang was a mere matter of accidental collision rather then someone forcing it to happen. Correct. That is why I class my religious beliefs as agnostic. I do not think that we will be able to conclusively answer this either way.

Thus making it a bit of a dead debate lol guess It's to big to fuel a good debate eh? You need more than two people and you need at least one person who knows a lot about the topic.

I see life in a rather odd way.
I like to think of everything being joined together, and things have to happen to get to something or someone. Like if you want a book, you must first want one. Then you must get an axe. With the axe you must chop the tree. I believe that even if you do a small action like moving a finger, a thousand thoughts go into it.
So if disease goes around the land, something has gone wrong in this chain of 'reactions'.
Like Tom said, a computer glitch.

If reality is changed a little by every minute action that human beings carry out, then there is no way that God could be sure of what was going to happen to the point when he could stop it. That is another way in which he lost control by giving us free will.

[glow=red,2,300]I myself think there is a god and is a mighty force in which controls us. anyway we need a belief like god or we would not be were we are today and have no purpose in life. to get to that place so called 'heaven'[/glow]

My opinion is this is just a myth. No proper idea about this and also best way not to believe this kind of things much.
