Okay, I know this sounds mean, but I genuinely feel charity can be a bad thing. I should explain. Let's think about sweatshops. They are horrible, cramped and badly paid places to work. There are obviously big problems, and they are clearly wrong. But, we are in a recession, possibly a depression. If we went out and closed all the sweatshops, replacing them with fair trade factorys, do you think prices would go down in England? I don't think so. If people think this through, if we closed sweatshops, building factory's in england, not only do the people working in them loose all means of an income, but we take up space in our country, adding to our housing situation, prices of products go up, and we place the suffering onto British people who have price increases. This is just one example of many reasons why charity and ending poverty can be a bad thing. And, may I stress that I am in full support of charity, and this is just two sides to an argument.

If it's multiplied by three isn't that good? You mean only a third of our money is actually given?

I do seem sadistic, but it's things like that that make me mute charity adverts.

what ever money i have... i have made myself I lol'd at this because I know how he makes the money. On topic, I see the point you are trying to make and agree with it in part. However, our problems are minuscule when compared to what the people in these countries have to suffer.

Yes, I see that completely, but it still bugs me that people go bankrupt because they gave to charity and couldn't afford it.

Helping someone else yet fucking up your life just puts you in a bad situation. That defeats the object of charity.

They contribute to charity when they can, but don't go overboard and screw themselves up.

And that's fine. I just don't like the way charitys make you feel guilty, and make you feel you have to give money.
