Our lives are being ruled by labels. Do we need to have categories which high light all the differences between all the people on this. The most common labels are : Emo, Punk, Goth, Scene, Chav, Gangster, Metal and grunge.
give you reasons and thoughts.

We do not need labels, but they label themselves a lot too. While most emos claim to be anti-label, they call themselves emo.

I don't think that labels are necessary at all. All they do is ensure that people from different "groups" cannot socialise and those in certain groups are completely ostracised and made to feel like shit. Sadly though, there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.

It does make good organization though.
These "labels" allow us to differenciate people from each other.
This can allow smart people, like ourselves, to work with each group differently knowing there type of what group they are in. Such as if it was emo you would try and keep positive, if it was a chav you would get them on their own. We can work our way around the groups.
Oh, real people don't need labels.
Thats why they are label'd real people.

yes, i agree 100% with the get the chavs on their own if your talking to them.... then they are fine

Sometimes though, I think the label 'chav' is too widely used. For instance there are some people I know who would call anyone who lives in the council estate near me a chav. Even the ones who own their houses. Also chav doesn't mean 'working class' it means a certain type of person who acts and dresses in a certain way, many people don't understand this...

Chavs need to be... I'd say understood but no one likes them lol. True chavs deserve everything they get. They chose to be like that. People who get called chavs just because they wear that sort of clothes really don't need it. |

it is propa shit though, espicialy as i have a mate who is as thick as 2 planks of wood, he is abit poor... not actualy POOR... but lives in the area i live in (pretty posh), and is probably one of the poorest in the area and doesnt have all the nice things and because i have branded clothes and that he calls me a chav, even though im blatently not a chav and the brands i wear arent even chavy, but then as soon as he gets these nike airmax trainers, symbol of a chav... no chav doesnt have a pair of these... he thinks that they arent chavy and that he isnt chavy... he isnt chavy but his trainers are =D

I get labelled Emo, but compared to the so-called Emos at my school I'm far from it. Most Emos aren't even emo any more, most of them couldn't name you a proper emocore band. I'm happy. Sure I have a cooky sense of style, but I like bright colours and I don't self-harm anymore. What is Emo?

One thing I find annoying about labels is that ltos of people think everyone else should fit into their little catorgories and if they don't then they're 'weird' ro something. I don't really fit into any stereotype except tomboy and I hate it when I go donw the street and people i don't even know go "are you a boy or a girl?" or "that kid looks so weird". I think that's mroe rudeness though.
